Artist’s Statement
My ceramic pieces stem from an interest in nature and photography. I aim to celebrate the simple beauty of nature through both functional and ascetically pleasing pieces. The works of Japanese ceramicist Shoji Hamada has influenced me greatly and has sparked a deep interest in Japanese ceramics.
Other influential artists that have made an impression on my art include the Wexford based artist Thomas Wollen, British potters Bernard Leech and Emmanuel Cooper.
